What's that thing called?

Many of you have seen these tools and wondered "What is that?" Well I am here share what I know. I have used one for years but it was a very plain one from the Making Memories Eyelet Kit. You know, the one with a hammer, tweeters, everything. I saw someone using a beautiful rainbow tool and thought "I want one of those!" I did purchase one and it's pretty, however I ended up wanting to make my own. As a fellow crafter, you know how that can be. You see something and think I love it, but I still want to make it myself. So, I got all the supplies (and way too much more) and started gluing away. I made several and here are a few of them. I have a few others but these are my favs. I have one I am still not finished with, as I am waiting for that perfect top bead. It won't have anything dangling down so I want it to be just right. They are so fun to make and when I need something other than scrapbooking to be crafty with, these are great! The different names are all correct and not correct, depending on the material used. A Scribe Tool from what I understand is for baking and you use it to write onto the pastry/dough/cookie, before it bakes as well as helping with certain types of frosting (normally used with a sugar cookie type dough). Anyway, the Scribe Tool needs to be made out of Stainless Steel so it doesn't rust when washed and the beads/glue need to be waterproof to allow for washing. When used for scrapbooking the need for it to be sterile is not so great. You can still wipe down the metal bottom part, but I wouldn't put them through a dishwasher or even put the beads under running water. Sanitizing wipes are fine though. As a scrapbooking tool you can pierce paper, use it to grab things like enamel dots or glue dots, hold down small pieces of paper while you write or glue in small areas, use it as a weeder for your Cricut images, etc. The uses are endless. I even use mine to open packaging. The tool isn't a necessity, however I love using things that sparkle so I definitely use mine all the time and wouldn't want to go back to the boring one from my old kit. Enjoy your day!

Happy Crafting!
